It’s Pogie Time
I have been looking forward to today for awhile now. Not because anything exciting was happening, but rather it would be the first time in a long time that M and I could go paddling together. I have been working too much lately and no matter what, today we were going to hit the water. We were going to paddle out of Fairhaven and paddle along Bellingham Bay. However the wind was picking up so we decided to just hit the lake instead. We joined a friend for a blustery rainy day. No problem as you can see M is showing the latest in kayaking fashion with a stylish hat and toasty warm Pogies. Damn those Pogies work good. I find my hands are too warm sometimes. But when the weather starts too cool down they sure are nice.
We nearly had the lake to ourselves. This is something you never get when the weather is nice. A mix of jet skiers and power boats that pay no attention to what they are doing. So the foul weather does have its benefits. So now I feel much more relaxed having spent a little time getting some paddling therapy.
So now the count down begins to my next day off …12 days. This will be a bonus though since on November 3rd I plan on paddling Deception Pass again.
